About

North Tyneside Art Studio are running creative wellbeing workshops at Stephenson Railway Museum throughout April.

Come along and have a go at a range of art and craft techniques, inspired by the museum and its surrounding outdoor areas. All materials are provided and no experience is necessary. 

24 April - Outdoor Sketchbooks

Take a walk in the outdoor area to collect, observe and draw. Try some botanical printing and shadow drawing! Meet Jess at the main entrance of the museum

8 May- Lovely landscapes

Create a painting or landscape inspired by nostalgic railway poster art.

15 May- Paint experiments 

Combine creative paint techniques and texture from rubbings to create colourful abstract compositions 

22 May- Monet - the man who stopped the trains

Explore watercolour, charcoal and pastels to recreate scenes from the golden age of steam

29 May- Drawing outdoors

Take a walk in our outdoor area to collect, observe and draw from nature.

Visitor Information

Weekly sessions every Wednesday 10am - 12pm. Meet just inside the main entrance of the museum. 

Free refreshments are provided.
