Buster Bear's Big Day Out
Bring your teddy bear for a great day out
Sunday 22 July
11am - 3pm
Donations welcome, free entry to Museum, charge for heritage train rides
Buster Bear is feeling very excited. Today, he's making a special journey to Stephenson Railway Museum from his home at Discovery Museum, where Stephenson's famous Rocket is currently on display as part of Great Exhibition of the North. He wants to find out more about an early locomotive engine - one that's even older than Rocket - and so he's coming to visit our star exhibit, Billy, now thought to be the third oldest engine in the world.
Whilst exploring the Museum and our exhibits, can your little ones find Buster Bear helping the volunteers with jobs around the Museum and workshops? They'll also be able to make a bear crown or listen to our storyteller with Big and Little Bear Tales.
Children who bring along their bears for a big day out travel free on the heritage trains and will receive a Teddy souvenir train ticket.
