About

Make every Thursday a Stephenson day. Bring your youngsters down to the museum every Thursday during the school holidays where they can explore our wonderful collection of vintage trains. We also have loads of craft activities, with a different theme each week, for them to try their hand at and let their imagination run riot. Suitable for 3-7 year olds.

27 July - Junk Modelling: engines, locomotives and trains

3 August - Build a station for Stephenson. Make a model station for our museum platform. We'll also be making sundials like the one you can find on Dial Cottage, the Stephenson family home from 1804

10 August - Junk Modelling: helicopters, planes and rockets

17 August - Let's play engine driver and guard

24 August - Automobiles

31 August - Wildlife by the Railway: make masks and finger puppets of animals you might see on a train journey around the country
