Join the Willington Waggonway project team as they share their research into an early wooden railway of international significance and launch their new publications.

Setting the Standard: research reports on the Willington Waggonway of 1785, the earliest standard gauge railway yet discovered  will be available for a suggested donation of £10; money raised will go towards our Willington Waggonway Appeal to preserve timbers from the waggonway. A guide book, The Wooden Rails that Blazed a Trail: Tyneside’s Willington Waggonway, will also be available to purchase for £4.99.

There will be several presentations followed by Q&A sessions and a discussion.
